This study aims to explore several factors influencing entrepreneurial intention of ethnic minorities in the northern mountainous region of Vietnam. From entrepreneurial learning perspective, twelve interviews were conducted in Cao Bang and Bac Kan provinces. The qualitative research findings suggest the important role of several factors in forming entrepreneurial intention, including acculturation, past experience, and modern self. Based on the findings, implications for policymakers are provided and future research directions are suggested.
