Impact of financial decisions on business performance of pharmaceutical companies listed on the Vietnamese stock market

This study investigates the impact of financial decisions, those are capital structure, investment decision and dividend decision, on the financial performance of pharmaceutical companies listed on the Vietnamese Securities Exchange. A sample of 46 pharmaceutical firms listed on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) for a period from 2017 to 2022 was selected. Analysis was conducted using multivariate regression. Empirical results show that capital structure has a negative and statistically significant impact on ROA, investment decisions have a positive and significant effect on ROA, but no significant impact on ROE. However, the dividend decision has both negative and positive effects on ROE and ROA that are not statistically significant.
