The impact of female board members on corporate risk-Taking

The study examines the impact of women on the board of directors on corporate risk. Using a dataset of 228 non-financial companies listed on HOSE in Vietnam between 2016 and 2022, the study results show that increasing the proportion of female members, and non-independent female members increase total risk and venturing risk while reducing performance hazard risk. In addition, the study found evidence that female board members tend to lessen the link between foreign ownership and corporate risk.
