This study investigates factors influencing green loan usage intentions using the extended theory of planned behaviour (TPB) and social exchange theory (SET). The model specifically examines the mediating role of green loan demand and the moderating effects of Financial Literacy and environmental benefit awareness. Analysing survey data from 340 valid respondents via SmartPLS 4 (PLS-SEM), the findings reveal that attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, and institutional trust positively drive green loan demand. Green loan demand acts as a full mediator in translating these factors into actual borrowing intention. However, the moderating roles of Financial Literacy and environmental benefit awareness were not statistically supported. The study provides practical implications for banks to simplify loan procedures and promote transparent green financial communication.
